Welcome to South West Animal Rescue

South West Animal Rescue (SWAR) Inc. is a not for profit organisation based in Bunbury, the South West of Western Australia.

SWAR was established in November 2006 to address the lack of an animal shelter in the Bunbury Area. Currently, we are run entirely by a small, but dedicated group of volunteers who take on the role of fostering animals in their own homes while they are looking for their “Forever Home”

We do not receive any government funding and rely solely on the donations of generous business and community members.

Our primary goal is to rescue, rehabilitate and re-home abandoned domestic animals.

SWAR are strong advocates of responsible pet ownership through sterilising to prevent unwanted offspring. We also believe in potential dog owners researching and choosing the correct breed of dog to suit their lifestyle. We welcome enquiries via the methods listed on our contact page.

All animals available through SWAR are vet checked; vaccinated; flea & worm treated; sterilised (or come with a voucher if under sterilisation age) and a micro chip voucher.
