South West Animal Rescue Inc. operates entirely on volunteers. We are always seeking and welcoming people who are interested in the rescue, rehabilitation and re-homing of abandoned domestic animals. From foster caring, fundraising, donating funds, attending meetings and markets, SWAR has a role for you:

Become a Member Top
For only $25 per year you’ll be providing SWAR with much needed funds and receive a quarterly members newsletter to keep you up-to-date on animals in our care as well as read success stories and keep informed of upcoming events. Download a SWAR Membership Application form Here. This form can be typed directly on to, or printed and hand written. Please return with a cheque/money order to the address listed on the form. Become a Temporary Foster Carer Top
Care for animals in your own home until they are ready for re-homing. This is a fantastic way to assist and a perfect way to have the love and enjoyment from a dog, cat, puppy, kitten or even rabbit, without taking on the lifetime responsibility. SWAR provides all vet work and where possible, food donations. You just need to open up your heart and home temporarily to our loving animals.

Become a Volunteer Top
Many volunteer roles are available. Our committee meets on a monthly basis and makes decisions on the direction of SWAR and other matters. Guests are always welcome and there is no pressure to join, we just like to see new faces! Our volunteers assist at market days around Bunbury – perfect if you love to talk as people are always interested in finding out what we do. Perhaps you enjoy baking? SWAR volunteers bake dog biscuits to assist with fundraising. The list is endless, but we need volunteers to continue and support the abandoned domestic animals in the South West.

South West Animal Rescue Inc. is eternally grateful for donations big or small, to our rescue group. It all helps to reduce the number of abandoned domestic animals being euthanised. If you would like to make a donation to SWAR Inc please download and complete this form. The form can be typed directly on to from your computer or printed and hand written. Please return via email or post with a  cheque or money order to the address listed on the form. Donations are accepted via cheque, money order, PayPal & direct deposit.

Sponsor an Animal Top
Sponsorship of a dog or puppy is a one-off donation of $150, cats are $100 and kittens are $50. Your sponsorship payment helps provide for the sterilisation; vaccination; flea & worm treatment and food for the animal you have chosen. In return for your generous donation, you will receive a photo of the selected animal, and a certificate of heartfelt thanks from the animal that you have helped. In addition to this, with your permission, we will also list your name as the animals sponsor against any advertising through our website or newsletters. If you are a business owner, we are also happy to advertise your business alongside your name.

Donate Pet Food/Toys/Blankets etc Top
If you would like to make donations of pet food (dog and cat tinned food and dry food), kitty litter, pet treats and toys, you will now find green donation bins (courtesy of Bunbury City Council) at Picton Produce, Harradine’s Veterinary Clinic and Manea Senior College Front Foyer. We have a collection basket outside Janny’s Cafe in the Stirling Centre.
